SCHOLAR SUPPORT STRATEGY
ISOW’s Scholar Support strategy focuses on providing Scholars with a community support network to which they can contribute and reach out to at need. The Scholar Support Team consists of 3-4 undergraduate students led by the Vice-President of ISOW. These students are responsible for helping Scholars get settled when they arrive in Canada. They are also the liaisons between the Management Team and Scholars. Beyond the official Scholar Support team, ISOW strives to build a strong community through casual weekend meals together and drop-in study sessions.
Scholar's mental health and wellness are one of our top priorities. ISOW includes the cost of an annual flight home in the value of each scholarship so that our Scholars can remain connected with their families throughout their studies.
As a small organization, ISOW tailors its support approach to the needs of each Scholar and their comfort level. When ISOW Scholars come to Canada they are welcomed into a waiting community who will be there for them for their entire course of study.
